Performance Characteristics:
•Eco-friendly, non-toxic and ultra-low VOC, odor-free, causing no contamination or corrosion to substrates.
•Excellent adhesion performance on building materials such as glass, aluminum, cement, concrete and stone.
•High modulus and high strength. It meets bonding and sealing requirements with high bonding strength between precast concrete components and window frames for prefabricated buildings.
•Class 25 movement capability. The product maintains stable performance and provides reliable bonding & sealing against expansion, contraction and shear deformation in general indoor sealing and construction material bonding applications.
•Good paintability; the cured surface can be overcoated.
•Outstanding resistance to weathering, high temperature and low temperature.
•One-component for easy operation. It features good extrudability within 5℃~40℃ and can be directly applied with a caulking gun.
SMT-M18 Silane-Modified Polyether Sealant is a one-component neutral curing sealant with Class 25 movement capability. It offers excellent adhesion to building materials including glass, aluminum, cement, concrete and stone. Featuring high modulus, high bonding strength and eco-friendly zero pollution, this product is mainly used for general indoor sealing and construction material bonding.
Application Areas
- General indoor sealing and bonding
- Sealing and joint filling between metal, aluminum alloy doors/windows and walls
Package
- This product is available in standard 300ml rigid cartridges (24 pieces per carton) and 600ml soft sausage packs (20 pieces per carton). Custom filling specifications can be provided upon customer request
Before application:
- Prior to application, compatibility tests between the sealant and contacting materials as well as adhesion tests on the substrates to be bonded shall be carried out.
Construction Method:
- All application surfaces must be clean, dry and free of contaminants.
- Fit the cartridge into a suitable caulking gun. Cut the nozzle according to joint width, then extrude sealant into the joint to ensure full contact between sealant and joint edges.
- Compact the sealant with a proper tool and scrape off excess material.
- Not to be used as structural sealant.
- Not applicable for curtain wall projects.
- Do not construct when the surface temperature of materials is below 5℃ or above 40℃.
- Unsuitable for continuously submerged areas or permanently humid environments.
- Avoid contact with rubber materials (such as rubber strips, rubber pads, etc.) to prevent yellowing.
- Avoid contact with acidic or alkaline substances (e.g. exterior wall cleaning agents) to prevent discoloration.
- Not suitable for substrates that exude oil, plasticizers or solvents, such as surfaces of oil-impregnated wood.
- When bonding cement and concrete substrates, the substrates must be fully dried and cured for 7 days before application; otherwise the adhesion performance will be affected.
- The construction surface must be clean, dry and free of dirt.
- Use within the shelf life of the product; expired products are forbidden to be used.
- Construction shall be carried out in strict accordance with the adhesion test procedures.
- Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. Do not ingest.
- Keep away from children. Store out of children's reach.
- Trace amounts of chemical substances will be released during curing. Adequate ventilation must be maintained at the workplace. The cured product is non-toxic to human bodies.
