Performance Characteristics:
•Flame retardant performance meets HB rating
•Does not emit dense smoke or toxic fumes during combustion
•Ketoxime-curing, one-component; good extrudability and thixotropy between 5℃ and 40℃
•Neutral curing, non-corrosive to most building materials
•Excellent weathering resistance, with resistance to heat, ultraviolet radiation, ozone and water
•Outstanding high and low temperature resistance. After curing, it will not become brittle, hard or crack at -50℃, and will not soften or degrade at 150℃, maintaining good strength and elasticity
•Excellent adhesion to most building materials to form robust sealing joints
•Good compatibility with other neutral silicone sealants
SMT 911 series is a one-component, neutral, room-temperature curing, high-performance silicone structural sealant for construction. It can be easily extruded for application and reacts with moisture in the air. After curing, it forms a cold-resistant, heat-resistant and non-corrosive elastomer. It features outstanding flame retardancy: it will not sustain combustion under open flame and self-extinguishes once the flame is removed, achieving V-0 flame retardant rating. It possesses weathering resistance including ozone resistance and UV resistance, ensuring a long service life. It offers excellent adhesion and generally does not require primer under normal conditions. The cured sealant develops strong adhesion to most building materials such as glass, aluminum, steel and stone. It delivers good elasticity and movement accommodation capability.
Application Areas
- Bonding and sealing of various fire doors and windows, flame-retardant sealing for each layer in curtain wall projects
- Fixation and flame-retardant sealing of electronic and electrical components
- Fireproof and moisture-proof sealing for decorations in public areas
Package
- This product is available in standard 300ml rigid cartridges (24 pieces per carton) and 600ml soft sausage packs (20 pieces per carton). Custom filling specifications can be provided upon customer request.
Before application:
- Prior to application, compatibility tests between the sealant and contacting materials as well as adhesion tests on the substrates to be bonded shall be carried out.
Construction Method:
- All application surfaces must be clean, dry and free of contaminants.
- Fit the cartridge into a suitable caulking gun. Cut the nozzle according to joint width, then extrude sealant into the joint to ensure full contact between sealant and joint edges.
- Compact the sealant with a proper tool and scrape off excess material.
- Not for use as structural sealant.
- Not recommended for copper and polycarbonate substrates.
- Do not apply when the material surface temperature is below 5℃ or above 40℃.
- Not suitable for frosted, damp areas or places with continuous water immersion.
- Avoid contact with rubber materials (such as rubber strips and rubber pads) to prevent yellowing.
- Avoid contact with acidic and alkaline substances (e.g. exterior wall cleaning agents) to prevent discoloration.
- Not suitable for materials that exude grease, plasticizers or solvents, including oil-impregnated wood surfaces.
- Use within the product shelf life. Expired product is forbidden for use.
- Construction shall be performed strictly in accordance with adhesion test procedures.
- Avoid direct skin and eye contact. Do not ingest.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not apply in airtight and poorly ventilated spaces, as the sealant cures by absorbing atmospheric moisture.
- Trace chemicals will be released during curing. Adequate ventilation is required at the working area. The fully cured sealant is non-toxic to human health.
